Professional/Personal Biography

I have been practicing family therapy for 35 years. My particular interest is seeing the individual from the context of their family of origin and throughout their relational life span. I became interested in family systems as a result of my early experiences in community organizing.
I believe that seeing ourselves through the lens of family and community helps us navigate the dynamic changes that occur throughout the stages of our lives.
I came to Salt Lake as a stepparent and created my stepfamily consulting business because I saw the need for education and support for individuals going through divorce, dating with children post-divorce, co-parenting and organizing new families.
As a clinician working with individuals and couples, I also work from a mind/body perspective and have experience and training in Mindfulness, Addiction and ADHD.
I am trained in Gottman and Sue Johnson’s EFT model and tailor each modality to the unique needs of my clients.
